I tried drinking for the first time | Harison Xavier

Image
A long time ago, I tried drinking alcohol for the first time. I have drunk a couple of beers and tried wine a long time ago, but not "The alcohol", I don't know how to call it, in general, I have known that beers have less alcohol content, and friends say that's nothing. "You will need to drink or try the real ones "hot", brandy, rum, whiskey, vodka any of these. I rejected their theory, I was a highly God-fearing and obedient kid back then, I feared if I drink a glass I will be thrown in hell. After years past I got this wish to try drinking and see what happens.  The wish grew stronger as months passed by, I heard writers, poets, thinkers, movie makers, and all creative artists drink because it makes them more creative. Drinking is the reason that they are getting successful ideas and inspiration. Finally, I made a plan and asked my close friend for help, he agreed as he loves to drink. Every one of my friends was surprised when I shared this idea.  F...

A Failed Atheist | Harison Xavier

I love stars, I do go outside at night and watch the stars and wonder "who are we?, Why are we so special?" We are so insignificant compared to the size of the universe as we know. Yet, we are special. We are the only one, the only life form that (we think) exists.  Thanks to the internet, I recently watched more than 14+ hours of videos of a debate between two gentlemen on the topic "Does God Exist?" Considering the background of these people I knew this is going to be very informative and by the end of it, we will find an answer.  They both went on with their arguments on why they are correct. I was very impressed with the depth of this debate, so much information and examples. At one point I was convinced and said to myself that "Maybe God doesn't exist".  It is not just them that I watched, there were many other intellectuals from different religious and science backgrounds, who have their own point of view. This search for the truth of mine has ...

The Three Envelopes

Image
The following is a story I heard when I was at primary school, our principal said this story during our weekly assembly, don't know why but I still remember it. Reading the daily news and watching people closely, I see that this story is repeating and it is still relevant.  The Three Envelopes      Mark, the C.E.O of a multinational company is sitting at his chair in his luxurious office. Today is his last day at the office. He is waiting for the new C.E.O Steve to arrive at his office and have a one-last conversation. The new C.E.O arrived and they shook hands, chatted a bit and Mark said, "I have a gift for you, Steve. I want you to have this it helped me during difficult times here. Open each envelope when you have a major crisis."       Mark handed over a box that contained three sealed envelopes. Mark said, "This was given to me by the C.E.O. before me." Saying this Mark waved goodbye and walked out the door.       ...

Thank You 2020. You will be missed | Harison Xavier

Image
Just a personal note. I must thank 2020 for many things. I know, I know. You must be thinking I am out of my mind.  No, I am not. First of all I am alive. It was very close yet here I am alive.       2020 is in the past and I want to thank 2020 for a few things. It was the darkest  year for almost everyone on the planet. Lots of suffering and chaos, floods, wildfire, earthquake, terrorist attacks, riots, accidents, and finally Covid 19. This is the first time in many years humans faced one common problem together and we fought bravely. Not everyone made it, we lost a lot of people and we cannot replace the gap they left in our lives.  The war is not over yet, but we could hope for a victory over this virus soon. There may be a rise of a new pandemic, lets hope its far far away, we are not ready for another one.   I remember me and my friends had a lot of plans like go for a long trip, marriage, starting a new business and on and on for the ...

Date: 21 December 2020 Introduction  The title may freak you out but it is not that scary. I would like to shed some light  about a company named Neuralink founded by Elon Musk. The company specialize on implanting a chip in human brain to help humans perform better.  I wanted to write about this 7 months ago, but Neuralink comes out new upgrades and innovation at a lighting speed. So at the time of this writing Neuralink is still at its infant stage but they have already tested their brain chip successfully on pigs. I am positive and I am waiting patiently to see what the future holds.  The below video explains the highlights of the entire presentation. Do watch the video to know more about Neuralink and their works.  To the topic We may never speak again...  When I was a kid I wished if there was a memory card slot on my head, so that I could record all the information that I have learned in my school and recollect it at my exams. I always felt exams was ...

The cat will not sleep in a noisy place."  "Eat worm infested fruits. Worms do not bite poisonous fruits." "Eat mushrooms where insects sit. Poisonous mushrooms are not eaten by insects." "The tree can be planted in the pit dug by the rabbits. The tree will flourish." "Dig a well where the birds rest to avoid the heat and you will definitely get water." "Sleep when birds are asleep and wake up when they are awake. Everything you touch will succeed."   "Swim in the water like a fish. When you walk on land, you will feel like a fish when they are in water." "Often look up at the sky. Light and clarity will be born in your thoughts."  "Be very calm and talk a little. Silence will beat in your heart. Your soul will always be at peace." "Eat more natural food...

Life have been very tough. It could have been worse Yet here I am moving on. I have been cheated and abused, It could  have been worse Yet here I am falling forward. Failed,  embarrassed, lost and wounded Still holding on to that twig Never let go, hold just a bit longer I tell myself, we will survive.

If Death Comes For Me Tonight, It's Okay | Harison Xavier

Trees and Sky - Just trying my photography skills     I am happy. Am I lying to myself? I am confused but recently I have been spending more time observing things around me - the clouds, the cool breeze, tree leaves and tall grasses moving along with it, beautiful sunny days and occasional rain, animals and birds. Observing all this I ask myself : Why didn’t I see them before? Where was I?  Life is beautiful.  After a long time I am back in my hometown and I am happy here, parents and friends so close to me and I could eat the most delicious home cooked food.  So peaceful and silent nature, it is a gift to people who spend a very long time in cities.  The hugs and friendly fights with friends, spending time with them, eating out and sitting silently at the cliff watching the city below.  All is colourful but I must say that I am also going through a tough time. It's been awhile since I felt completely peaceful inside. I am concerned about 100 things ab...

The one and only Ebenezer " King Ebby " Mamabolo

Image
Ebenezer Mamabolo  I would like to share about someone. A man I know but never met in person, he is a certified and licensed facilitator, coach, speaker and teacher with The John Maxwell Team. We have a long story behind our small friendship.  It was in the year 2014, I was going through a tough day. All my plans have failed and I was lost, that day evening after dinner, I was depressed and sad about how hard life has been lately. I couldn’t make a decision. Alone in my room, the very room where I am writing this blog. That night I logged in to Facebook and there was a group for people who were depressed and sad. The group was filled with a lot of people sharing their problems. So  I shared my problems and thoughts too, after a few mins  came a comment to my post, it was King Ebby from South Africa. Isn’t it a miracle?  The technology these days, we could talk with people around the world in real time.   An encouraging message to me t...

It's Just A Drink | Harison Xavier

It's Just A Drink  My thoughts on a problem that we are facing for more than few thousand years. Yes, Alcohol. I am writing this to find where we can stand when it comes to drinking, and if we could find a middle ground. I am trying to come to a conclusion using the stories of few of my friends and from the books and experiences of people. You might have heard this before, "it's just a drink", "just this one drink", "this is the last one" , "One last peg" , "I am stopping this today".  I have seen many of my friends who say this, they all wanted to stop at some point, but they never did or never could. They all started drinking just for fun or relaxation. Relaxation from what? A few were going through a very tough time in their lives. I had my first taste of alcohol when I was very young at the age less than ten. My dad poured a bit in a glass and mixed it with a lot of water and told me to taste it. It was so bitter. Yuck! We h...
