8 Lessons To Learn Before Old Age | Harison Xavier

Talking with elderly people is always mind blowing. It is a very humbling experience to talk to them, listening to their stories and getting the glimpse of the wisdom they hold. The following are 8 lessons I learned from an old friend of mine.  Aging and death are a fact. With a little mental preparation you can deal with it with confidence. 1. Loneliness  As we get older, the number of people we need will continue to decrease. The parents and the generation before them left. Many of his contemporaries were exhausted and deprived of opportunities. The younger generation may not have time to look after their parents because of the hustle and bustle of their life problems. At this point many life partners may have passed before they can expect it. That is when loneliness and emptiness take hold. So this is the first lesson. Love loneliness and learn to live happily alone. 2. You will be forgotten  As you grow older, society will begin to forget you. No matter how ...

August 5, 1888: Weisslock, a small village in Baden, Germany, is approaching noon. Their children were playing nearby. Then they saw a sight. A woman in a black gown was riding in a horse-drawn carriage with her two children. But what surprised them was something else. There were no horses in front of the chariot. At that time a woman sent her child to the next priest as soon as they heard about the sorcerers who were kidnapping children. The church bell rang and the priest gathered the people. They were ready to face the witch. But suddenly the car stopped. The woman got out of the car. They checked the vehicle. Then they walked towards the nearest hospital. They did not see anyone there and they went to the next bar. They asked for 10 liters of ligroin . Ligroin was a petroleum product. It was used to remove stains from clothes. They poured ligroin and started their journey. This was the first road trip in history. Wife of Benz, a fan of motor vehicles. They were Bertha Benz an...

A Human | Harison Xavier

Credits: The movie: Shutter Island           If you have watched the movie Shutter Island, you might have seen the above shot of a board that is kept at the cemetery which reads  "Remember us for we too have lived, loved and laughed" . I always wanted to know who came up with that. This sentence touched me, I feel like there is something more than just those words in this sentence. I see a whole life of a human being.           I am writing this blog post in memory of a not so known soul in my home town. It is about Sebastian. We don't even have a good picture of him. He was a gardener, construction worker, garbage collector and so and so he did all kinds of jobs. He didn't have much friends. He didn't have that fancy career. He didn't even have a regular income. Everyone in our home town knew him yet he was invisible.  "Is there any work chetta (big brother) ? " Not now.... We will reply  "Seri chetta ....(okay ...

About Life by Napoleon Hill

Life, you can’t subdue me because I refuse to take your discipline too seriously. When you try to hurt me, I laugh — and the laughter knows no pain. I appreciate your joys wherever I find them; your sorrows neither frighten nor discourage me, for there is laughter in my soul. Temporary defeat does not make me sad. I simply set music to the words of defeat and turn it into a song. Your tears are not for me, for I like laughter much better, and because I like it, I use it as a substitute for grief and sorrow and pain and disappointment. Life, you are a fickle trickster — don’t deny it. You slipped the emotion of love into my heart so that you might use it as a thorn with which to prick my soul — but I learned to dodge your trap with laughter. You tried to lure me with the desire for gold, but I have fooled you by following the trail which leads to knowledge instead. You induced me to build beautiful friendships — then converted my friends to enemies so you may harden my heart, but I side...
